The Great Power of Kyai in Managing Pesantren Excellence

Abstract

The dominant power of leaders in organizations is often seen as something that is repressive and even creates instability and negative conflict. Different things are found in the power of kyai, the greater power of kyai create the faster development of pesantren he leads. To find out how kyai use the power to manage the excellence of pesantren so research was carried out using a phenomenological approach. It concludes that kyai use the power by understanding the rights and obligations of pesantren residents, transferring religious knowledge directly as educators, distributing power to a trusted management team based on devotion, experience and loyalty, and applying the qudwatuna model in providing leadership education to produce new leaders.
